Job Overview
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of UC’s IAM systems. This role involves troubleshooting issues, responding to user support tickets, gathering requirements, implementing new IAM solutions, and collaborating with various academic and administrative departments across the university.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee user account lifecycle management, ensuring the creation, provisioning, securing, and deactivation of access rights, predominantly through automated processes.
  • Configure IAM components, including drivers and scripts, ensuring comprehensive testing for functionality, efficiency, and robustness.
  • Engage in projects and provide production support focused on implementing IAM solutions, facilitating coordination with university stakeholders throughout the implementation process.
  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, and support of IAM technologies.
  • Participate in initiatives to standardize processes and procedures when introducing new provisioning and role management points.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and support of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) integrations and related strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of authorization evidence in compliance with internal standards.
  • Aid in troubleshooting IAM tools and processes to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support application upgrades and evaluate new technology, settings, and functionality.
  • Enforce organizational policies and procedures to ensure that only authorized personnel access sensitive information, adhering to principles of RBAC and least privilege.
  • Participate in ongoing audits, risk assessments, and the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Disable dormant accounts and records to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Develop system access and security implementation plans based on operational customer needs and requests.
  • Create and sustain detailed documentation on standard operating procedures, system configurations, and technical settings for use by internal teams and end-user support.
  • Contribute to efficiency improvements by recommending process enhancements and creating solutions for automating repetitive IAM tasks.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to the UC community, including students, staff, and faculty.
  • Produce and revise system documentation detailing the IAM environment, including configuration settings and troubleshooting protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as required by departmental needs, with the understanding that this job description may be modified as necessary.

Required Education
An Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. Alternatively, five years of relevant work experience or specialized training may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

Required Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management systems, platforms, and processes.
  • Familiarity with Micro Focus NetIQ Identity and Access Management and Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID).
  • Experience in higher education settings.
  • Proficiency with both Linux and Windows servers.
  • Knowledge of Federated Authentication/Single Sign-On (SSO) processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server and writing SQL queries.
