Job description:

Prepare food items of consistent quality in accordance with established recipe cards and production standards, ensuring portion control as verified by server checks. Initiate the preparation of food items in advance, being mindful not to exceed estimated needs.

Adhere to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards by properly dating all food containers and rotating stock, ensuring that all perishable items are maintained at appropriate temperatures. Monitor inventory levels for the shift, determining necessary preparations, freezer pulls, and line setups while noting any out-of-stock items or potential shortages. Assist in maintaining buffet stock levels.

Ensure that any unused food items from your shift are returned to designated storage areas, ensuring all perishables are appropriately covered and dated. Contribute to the development and implementation of plans to address food cost issues, managing food waste, loss, and usage according to HEI Hotels and Resorts standards.

Effectively operate, maintain, and thoroughly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, and flat top grills.

Consistently comply with attendance policies and be available for regular work shifts. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possess finger/hand dexterity for operating food machinery, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs. on a continuous basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style for various audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
