Position Summary
The Concessions Stand Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of concessions stands. This position encompasses various responsibilities including inventory management, minimizing product waste, training new employees, cash handling, compliance with alcohol service policies, maintaining cleanliness and safety, providing excellent guest service, supervising employees and volunteers, resolving issues, assisting with event planning, food preparation, and other tasks as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage. The Concessions Stand Lead is expected to deliver high-level event oversight while actively supervising, coaching, directing, and mentoring team members to adhere to company quality standards. This individual may also participate in employment-related decisions including hiring, termination, discipline, promotions, and transfers.
The Concessions Stand Lead must manage all aspects of employee relations to foster a positive, compliant, and cooperative work environment. Reliable attendance and availability to work a variable event-driven schedule, including evenings and weekends, are essential. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, maintain a professional appearance, possess outstanding interpersonal skills, and show self-direction.
The role offers an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $17, plus tips. For full-time positions, benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).
This position will remain open until April 18, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, and mentor a team of part-time concessions employees, including documenting performance and attendance issues as per company policy.
- Ensure proper setup of all concession locations prior to event start, including verifying opening inventory, assigning duties, ensuring sanitation standards, and confirming operational readiness.
- Provide high-level oversight and operational expertise for the successful execution of events.
- Oversee inventory management, product ordering, and high-volume sales.
- Collaborate effectively with Concession Supervisors.
- Train new and existing employees on established procedures and best practices.
- Fill in for open positions as necessary to ensure smooth operations and adherence to service speed and guest satisfaction standards; assist with Premium Services operations and event needs as directed.
- Communicate workplace expectations to event staff and volunteers, providing ongoing training and mentoring to foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of all concession locations, including layouts, equipment, emergency procedures, and access points.
Qualifications
- Experience in training new employees and volunteers.
- Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls.
- Strong communication skills, enabling clear and professional interactions with employees, co-workers, management, and guests, fostering a positive and enthusiastic work environment.
- Ability to make informed operational decisions under pressure concerning staffing and resolving technical or equipment challenges during events.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and event-driven environment.
- Thorough understanding of applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards related to IEC concession operations.
- Proficient in basic mathematical functions as they relate to cash transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory management.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Nationally recognized food service sanitation certification is preferred.
- Nationally recognized alcohol service training certification is preferred.
