Purpose of the Position:
The primary responsibility of the Shift Technician is to support the cleaning and packaging manufacturing processes while driving process control and operational excellence. This role involves assisting team leaders and operators, serving as a vital link between the cleaning and packaging operations team, the technical team, maintenance, and quality assurance. The Technician will provide essential manufacturing support by managing cost reduction initiatives, performance improvement controls, and capacity projects.

Key Tasks:

  • Engage actively in safety incidents and solicit employee feedback.
  • Compile and analyze shift production reports.
  • Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) performance and downtime reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping objectives, including 5S standards.
  • Oversee job change effectiveness and develop process control strategies such as SOS (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Ensure adherence to quality specifications and maintain sample limits.
  • Facilitate Pre-Run and Post-Run Reviews with line technicians, Batch Section Supervisors, and engineers.
  • Lead employee training and certification efforts.
  • Support engineering activities that drive manufacturing improvements.
  • Address production challenges related to throughput or safety.
  • Analyze chronic issues requiring robust monitoring and data-driven solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects applying sound engineering principles to ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to support new product initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation upon project completion.

Work Hours:
To be determined based on the technician’s scheduled shifts.

Required Education & Skills:

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, including troubleshooting of process equipment.
  • Proficiency in electrical system troubleshooting, encompassing low and medium voltage systems, PLCs, and safety systems.
  • General mechanical system troubleshooting experience, including pneumatic controls and material handling.

Desired Skills:

  • Background as an electrical technician with an associate’s degree.
  • Advanced expertise in induction furnace heating and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC control systems (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Siemens, or similar).
  • Data collection and computer skills, employing systematic approaches to problem-solving.
