We are currently seeking second-shift Forklift Drivers to join our team. This role serves as an excellent opportunity to launch an exciting career in warehousing operations and supply chain management. Forklift Drivers play a crucial role in our dynamic warehousing operations by ensuring efficient movement of products throughout the facility for stacking or assembly. This position offers valuable experience in forklift operations, inventory management, productivity, and adherence to safety standards, including:
- Safely unloading inbound shipments and moving products as required.
- Efficiently stacking and storing merchandise in designated areas.
- Verifying freight for accuracy and checking for damage or infestation.
- Preparing necessary documentation and submitting it to the Operations Manager.
- Performing frequent and repetitive lifting of items weighing approximately 50 lbs, with lifting frequency possibly exceeding 100 repetitions per shift.
- Engaging in frequent bending and twisting motions while loading and unloading trucks.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
- Compliance with safety and security standards in all duties performed.
- Assisting with various warehousing operations as needed and undertaking additional tasks as requested by supervisors.
- Ensuring the integrity of equipment and materials by maintaining a neat and orderly workspace.
- Adhering to warehouse work rules, COVID-19 protocols, and housekeeping policies.
- Implementing proper lifting techniques according to company guidelines.
Candidate Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in forklift operations is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a beverage plant or warehouse setting is preferred but not required.
- Exposure to clamp trucks is advantageous.
- Ability to handle customer products with care and integrity.
Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests.
Details & Location:
- Position located in Southwest Detroit
- Shift begins at 2:30 PM and concludes at 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for overtime and Saturday shifts as needed.
