Job description:

This position is supervised by the Director of Parking Operations and is specifically assigned to various posts within the parking areas of Huntington Place. The individual in this role is primarily responsible for observing, protecting, and safeguarding both the assets and staff at Huntington Place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting with visitors, employees, and coworkers.
  • Assist in checking in and verifying guests who have security access issues to ensure proper entry into the facility.
  • Conduct visual security checks across all parking areas.
  • Collaborate with the Detroit Police Department (DPD) and in-house security to manage traffic and establish optimal flow patterns.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential incidents.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed reports on security incidents.
  • Perform other security-related tasks as directed by Senior Management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating the necessary competencies to perform the role effectively.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in public safety and one year in customer service.
  • Skills: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions; flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays; capability to maintain professionalism and provide calm, clear assistance during emergencies or when addressing concerns from individuals dissatisfied with parking or event situations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
