DIRECT HIRE: We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a prestigious international company specializing in cutting-edge laser technology solutions for the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, and Scientific research sectors. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k), long-term disability, and short-term disability insurance.
The salary for this role ranges from $30 to $36.53 per hour, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we offer a generous relocation package of $10,000 to $15,000, which includes 4 to 8 weeks of temporary housing and 6 to 8 weeks of car rental for qualified candidates willing to relocate.
Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer include:
- Providing technical support to customers throughout North America as a member of the technical service group.
- Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing company equipment to the highest standards.
- Engaging in training programs that span approximately 5 to 6 months, with ongoing education on both existing and new products.
- Executing basic retrofits, software installations, and customer training sessions.
- Ensuring timely and high-quality completion of all related paperwork.
- Independently resolving technical issues while fostering strong customer relationships.
- Offering 24/7 on-call telephone support as part of a rotating schedule.
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Candidates must be located within a 60-minute radius of Fort Wayne International Airport or be open to relocation.
Qualifications for the Field Service Engineer:
- A two-year technical degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, or a combination of relevant training and work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, with a focus on technical support.
- Proficient electrical and computer systems skill set and strong diagnostic capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems, or mechatronics is essential.
