Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential support to our residents in Utica, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors. We are hiring immediately for all shifts!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the living environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is essential.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Valid Driver’s license or ID.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and punctuality for every shift is critical.
