Job description:

The Lead Grill Cook is responsible for assisting in the supervision of the Fore Star Grill at Pheasant Run Golf Club. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, overseeing scheduling, managing orders, and maintaining inventory control. The Lead Grill Cook will prepare and/or oversee the preparation of food, ensuring compliance with all sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, while adhering to established food production programs and procedures. Additionally, this role involves ensuring the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.

Duties Include:

  • Ensuring all food is prepared according to recipes and served at the proper temperature, presentation, and in accordance with management standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and food safety/quality standards for the facility and all equipment.
  • Verifying inventory of beverage cart products before, during, and after shifts.
  • Adhering to Health Department and Township standards at all times.
  • Conducting quality checks at regularly scheduled intervals.
  • Organizing, training, and managing staff to ensure proper food handling, alcohol serving, and cleaning procedures are followed.
  • Reviewing food freshness and expiration dates, while adhering to proper food storage procedures.
  • Addressing guest complaints with professionalism, urgency, and good judgment.
  • Establishing excellent guest service as a priority through personal example and follow-up.
  • Training, assisting, supervising, and scheduling all food and beverage staff; ensuring appropriate staffing levels for each shift.
  • Managing all aspects of inventory management and control.
  • Operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, and griddles.
  • Assisting wait staff with service duties and customer service as required.
  • Washing, cutting, and preparing food designated for cooking.
  • Cleaning, stocking, and restocking workstations and display cases.
  • Ordering and receiving deliveries of food and non-food supplies.
