In the role of an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier at Goodwill Industries of Akron, you will be the face of our organization, playing a vital role in our mission to serve the community. Our customers value our well-organized stores and affordable merchandise, but what keeps them coming back is the outstanding customer service they receive every time.

Your primary responsibility will be to prioritize customer service while engaging with both shoppers and donors. You will greet each customer with a warm smile, regardless of how busy you may be. You will also inform customers about the Elizabeth Clark Fund and encourage participation, in addition to signing up or utilizing their Goodwill Club membership, sharing your enthusiasm with them.

As a cashier, you will facilitate purchases by accurately and efficiently operating the cash register and point of sale system. Your attention to detail will be essential as you complete reports, including donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer reconciliations. You will handle phone inquiries with the same friendliness and commitment to customer service, ensuring that you actively listen to customer needs.

Moreover, you will select and price donated goods and textiles, adhering to Goodwill’s quality control standards, while taking pride in maintaining a clean and organized environment.
