• Thursday to Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

LOCATION: Detroit, Michigan

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your responsibilities will vary based on the site assignment. This particular position is situated in an office environment where the Security Officer may be positioned at a front desk in the lobby or patrolling employee areas on foot. Additional responsibilities may include:

• Enhanced Customer Service: Approach every interaction with a focus on hospitality and patience.
• Situation De-escalation: Assist staff in verbally de-escalating situations involving clients.
• Foot Patrol: Monitor and patrol the building’s exterior, identify security, safety, and maintenance issues, and ensure staff can move safely to and from their vehicles.

SUCCESS as a Security Officer at DK Security will encompass:

• Reliability: Arrive for your shift punctually, in appropriate attire, and wearing the prescribed uniform.
• Friendly Demeanor: Effectively balance the demands of outstanding customer service with adherence to client policies and rule enforcement.
• Compliance with Company and Client Policies: Understand and interpret written post guidelines, follow outlined procedures, and complete all assigned tasks during your shift.
• Use of De-escalation Techniques: Proficiently diffuse situations through effective communication strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• No felony convictions; candidates must pass a criminal background check in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Successful completion of a drug test at the time of hire and on a random basis thereafter is mandatory.
• Present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances and navigating stairs.
• Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to respond promptly to emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
