Nutrition Services / Dietary Aide – Full-Time (Day Shift) and Part-Time Positions Available

General Summary:
The Server Person is responsible for providing table service in the community dining rooms. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Setting tables and ensuring workstations are well-maintained.
  2. Taking orders and delivering service and requested items with grace and courtesy.
  3. Clearing dishes from tables during and after meal service.
  4. Responding to inquiries about menu items.

Additional Duties:

  1. Maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests.
  2. Assisting with dishwashing and distribution of clean dishes as needed.
  3. Ensuring safe and sanitary conditions in all work areas.
  4. Upholding acceptable standards of personal hygiene and adhering to the department’s dress code.
  5. Completing all assigned cleaning tasks.
  6. Participating in in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  7. Fulfilling specific responsibilities as delegated by a supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  2. Experience in a dining setting, such as a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining is preferred; training will be provided.
  3. Ability to interpret and explain the menu, answer questions, and manage the meal service process.
  4. Capacity to work cooperatively with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers, demonstrating courtesy and tact.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors; candidates must be able to stand and walk for the entirety of the workday. Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs independently and pushing or pulling bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs. Must frequently bend, stoop, reach, and maintain balance during the workday. Visual and auditory abilities as well as verbal communication skills are required.
