Position Purpose:
Our Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers play a crucial role in the country’s food supply chain. Not only do our delivery drivers ensure timely and safe product delivery to customers, but they also embody the face of our company, creating lasting relationships with those we serve.

As a Driver with an Hourly CDL-A, your primary responsibility will be operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck across a variety of routes—local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries—to safely and timely deliver food and related products while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will be expected to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, ensuring that inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately. Team collaboration within the department and organization is essential, and all other duties assigned will be executed to best represent the company.

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
– Conducting all required safety checks (pre and post-trip) and inspecting vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with company safety standards, and reporting any safety concerns or necessary repairs.
– Following all DOT regulations and adhering to company safe driving policies.
– Reporting safety hazards immediately and inspecting trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
– Performing count checks of items and verifying customer invoices to ensure accuracy.
– Maneuvering the tractor to the loading dock to attach preloaded trailers as required.
– Delivering customer orders per the predetermined route delivery schedule and unloading products into designated customer storage areas.
– Conducting damage control checks on items and coordinating with supervisors about order removals as per company policy.
– Verifying the delivery of items with customers and collecting payments where required.
– Handling the loading of customer returns onto trailers and securing trailer doors appropriately.
– Unloading damaged goods and customer returns for processing and completing necessary paperwork.
– Maintaining daily records of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
– Performing general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock areas, ensuring trailers remain clear and clean.
– Completing all necessary paperwork and securing all equipment at the end of the shift.
– Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
– A minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
– A valid CDL-A.
– Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (where applicable).
– A clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
– Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
– Passing a road test.
– Attaining or possessing a current valid DOT Health Card or the ability to secure one.
– Capacity to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers, lift gates, and other tools to move and stack products of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift; items typically range from 10-35 pounds and can reach up to 60-90 pounds based on location.
