We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developers to contribute to an impactful project with a key client in the automotive sector, focused on cutting-edge connected vehicle technology. This role involves developing connected vehicle services for customers across the USA and Canada, encompassing a suite of backend, frontend, and middleware applications. These systems interface with connectivity units in vehicles, enabling features such as remote vehicle start, parking location visualization, and Alexa voice commands, among others. This is a full-time, salaried hybrid position situated in Auburn Hills, MI, with a requirement to work in the office at least three days per week.

Requirements:
– A minimum of 10 years of Java development experience is required.
– Proven experience in integrating and managing APIs that expose microservices (REST, SOAP) along with development and support of Java/JavaScript services.
– Expertise in web portal design and development, including web content management.
– Proficiency in creating cloud-hosted, responsive, single-page web applications utilizing JavaScript, Java, HTML5, and CSS3.
– High proficiency in client-side JavaScript frameworks, preferably React/Redux.
– Strong familiarity with server-side frameworks, preferably Node.js.
– Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
– Strong skills in UML and the ability to facilitate Object-Oriented (OO) and J2EE design adhering to best practices and design patterns.
– Familiarity with event-based System of Engagement architectures.
– Acquaintance with Design Thinking, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
– Experience working within Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean Startup, or XP, in collaboration with cross-functional teams that include Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, and Business Analysts.
– Demonstrated commitment to optimizing CI/CD processes, tools, testing frameworks, and practices (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins/Bamboo, Mocha/Karma).
– Familiarity with Kafka, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, CoreOS, and AWS.
– Acquaintance with Rx and ICP frameworks, operator libraries, core execution engines, high-scale streaming data management, manageability, tooling, and system optimization.
– Experience with Liferay or other portlet-based services is preferred.
– Proven ability to present ideas, concepts, and proofs of concept (POCs) to executive teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
– Adhere to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP) and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams (including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, QA, Project Managers, and Business Analysts).
– Comprehend project requirements, implement effective solutions, and provide administrative tools and documentation.
– Engage in design and code reviews to ensure quality outcomes.
– Follow and enhance existing development processes to contribute to overall efficiency.
– Provide accurate project estimates, consistent feedback, and meet established deadlines.
– Maintain a hybrid work schedule, coming into the Auburn Hills office a minimum of three days each week.
