Job description:

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide quality care to our residents in Clinton Township, MI. The Caregiver will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor and report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
• Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
• Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Prior experience working with the elderly is essential.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work every other weekend.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team, punctuality for shifts is essential.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position with Caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts, including a requirement to work every other weekend.
