Job description:

We are actively seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join our Supply Chain Solutions division in Livonia, MI. This role presents an excellent opportunity to connect with a Recruiter and learn more about the position and the advantages of becoming part of the Ryder Ever Better Team.

  • Compensation: Exempt/Salaried, with a bi-monthly payment schedule.
  • Annual Salary: $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • Work Schedule: First shift, Tuesday through Saturday, involving a 10-hour shift. Work hours will either be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager, the Logistics Supervisor will oversee, coordinate, and supervise logistics operations while providing coaching, development, and training for staff members. The ideal candidate will recommend enhancements for facilities, equipment, machinery, and processes. Ensuring staff adherence to performance standards and facilitating progress toward business objectives will be key responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and manage day-to-day logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to plan and review logistics processes to ensure compliance with company standards and customer service expectations.
  • Establish work schedules and coordinate worker activities to optimize logistics operations.
  • Monitor site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with customers to address all operational aspects.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members to track performance, provide coaching, and acknowledge achievements.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion while enhancing cooperation and improving internal processes.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend appropriate rewards or merit increases.
  • Address performance issues through corrective actions and adherence to disciplinary protocols.
  • Understand labor agreements and maintain constructive labor relations with employees.
  • Ensure the implementation of health and safety practices and compliance with company policies.
  • Provide comprehensive orientation for new staff and equip them with necessary resources to fulfill their roles.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Compensation Information:
