Regional Director of Operations
Summary:
The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is responsible for overseeing the clinical rehabilitation operations of multiple practices within a designated geographic market under the guidance of the Regional Vice President (RVP). This role entails achieving targeted financial, employee relations, customer service, and clinical objectives through exemplary leadership and effective management of staff and client interactions. The RDO is expected to uphold high professional standards, fostering positive relationships with facilities and clients, and embodying Reliant Rehabilitation’s commitment to quality and service in all engagements. The position also requires strict adherence to Reliant Rehabilitation’s Policies and Procedures, as well as compliance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and allocate clinical staff to meet the program needs of facilities.
- Oversee the delivery of quality patient care and provide opportunities for the development of clinical skills, ensuring that care standards are consistently met within the facility.
- Ensure that Reliant Rehabilitation and client policies and procedures, as well as patient care standards, are upheld within assigned facilities.
- Implement and manage staffing objectives for the geographic area.
- Act as a clinical resource by specialty and conduct regular clinical and compliance audits in assigned and adjacent areas as delegated.
- Direct efficient management of patient caseloads and scheduling within the facilities in the designated geographic market, including resident screening, patient assignments, treatment outcome reviews, efficiency assurance, and clinical program implementation.
- Analyze facility case mix and contribution margins.
- Communicate with facility staff and referral sources to obtain necessary clinical information regarding new or potential admissions.
- Develop and execute action plans to address deficiencies identified in routine clinical audits or compliance investigations, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Oversee new facility start-ups and manage labor costs within the geographic area.
- Drive management practices to meet or exceed financial objectives and contribute to the development of financial goals.
- Address day-to-day customer issues, striving for satisfactory resolutions.
- Develop corrective action plans to mitigate risks or concerns identified, ensuring positive outcomes of noted deficiencies.
- Implement an ongoing documentation peer review system within assigned facilities.
- Monitor and achieve area-specific employee retention objectives within assigned facilities.
- This position may require up to 75% travel, including the ability to commute between facilities during scheduled hours. Flexibility in working hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
- Compliance with the position description relevant to the current license discipline is essential.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Must possess an Associate’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), or Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience is required, of which at least three years must be in direct patient care, alongside one to two years of successful clinical management.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Basic skills in internet navigation.
Certificates and Licenses:
- A valid credential indicating compliance with state regulatory board requirements for practice in the assigned state is mandatory. Must also meet other regulatory standards necessary for practice.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising staff across multiple facilities within the geographic area, which includes training, scheduling, coaching, issue resolution, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with disciplinary actions and terminations.
