Role Summary
In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting frontline operations by assisting our Service Parts Advisors and ensuring that the Rivian Service Centers are adequately supplied with parts when and where they are needed, while minimizing costs. You will take the lead in implementing materials management strategies that enhance our customer service experience. This position offers a hybrid working model, requiring presence at our Irvine, CA facilities or regional Rivian locations, as well as the flexibility to work from home. The role will report directly to the Channel Planning Manager.
Responsibilities
– Support the strategic plan for Channel Planning and Analytics, aimed at enhancing service levels while minimizing inventory and optimizing safety stock.
– Manage master data and inventory parameters for Service Center materials to align with demand forecasts, ensuring high fill rates, minimizing downtime, and optimizing supply chain costs.
– Oversee the development, rollout, and ongoing enhancement of part inventory stocking models and strategies, including part order replenishment logic and distribution planning to meet global service level agreements.
– Analyze system outputs to verify the accurate ordering and replenishment of materials necessary to support global service requirements, focusing on automation and error identification to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
– Coordinate the transactional movement of materials to optimize logistics costs, fulfill service level agreements, and reduce global inventory expenses.
– Promote operational excellence and best practices across the network to drive cost reductions and improve service levels, particularly in replenishment order generation and distribution strategies.
– Collaborate with Service Field Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, and other strategic partners to ensure clarity regarding service level expectations, part allocation strategies, and inventory management practices.
– Pursue innovative approaches and present new strategies for continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
– 2-3 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, including Tier 1, OEM, or technical fields, with a focus on demand supply chain, materials management, distribution, or logistics.
– Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or MBA in a corresponding discipline is preferred.
– Proficiency in SAP, Advanced Excel, Tableau, and SQL; familiarity with Python is an advantage.
– Experience managing high-volume ordering processes in a fast-paced distribution environment.
– Exceptional collaboration skills and a proactive approach to driving change.
– Strong background in establishing and managing analytics-based performance tracking within supply chains.
– In-depth understanding of planning systems, warehouse management, inventory level establishment, and ERP system interdependencies.
– Proven leadership experience, with a successful track record in automotive or high-tech settings.
– Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving ability.
– Experience in process design, including the capacity to understand, document, and enhance complex workflows.
Physical Requirements
– Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours per day, in a desk or collaborative setting.
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California-based applicants: $69,000 – $91,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
