Job description:
As the Registered Dietitian Malnutrition Informatics Specialist at HHS, LLC, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing malnutrition program management within assigned hospital facilities. We offer a competitive starting salary of $80,000 per year for this remote position, which requires up to 50% travel to various area facilities.

In this role, your responsibilities will include the oversight of the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of malnutrition programs. You will be tasked with tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of these programs in improving patient outcomes and increasing the recognition of malnutrition. Your analytical skills will be essential as you analyze monthly hospital-specific data and utilize data analytics to monitor trends related to malnutrition diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes, subsequently making data-driven recommendations for program adjustments.

Building and maintaining robust relationships with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals will be critical as you foster a collaborative approach to malnutrition management. Additionally, you will lead or actively participate in multidisciplinary committees, meetings, and training sessions aimed at promoting awareness of malnutrition, ensuring adherence to best practices in screening, diagnosis, and treatment, while also keeping staff informed about current malnutrition-related guidelines, tools, and evidence-based practices.

As part of your support responsibilities, you will conduct ongoing monitoring and training focused on malnutrition assessment and documentation for Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Clinical Nutrition Managers (CNMs), ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the malnutrition program. You will assist RDs and facilities in achieving a standardized quality of care and provide support to the Corporate Regional RD in monitoring RDs’ clinical competency for regulatory compliance. As needed, you will provide clinical coverage in your areas of responsibility, which includes completing documentation for nutrition assessments and follow-ups for patients at risk of malnutrition.

In the realm of Quality Assurance, you will regularly assess program performance through data collection, audits, and performance reviews, providing reports to HHS leadership on outcomes, including trends in malnutrition rates and overall impacts on patient care and revenue. You will identify opportunities for improvement based on data trends and feedback from clinical teams while advocating for organizational policies and practices that promote early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatment of malnutrition.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following specifications: a Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission of Dietetic Registration, a Licensed Dietitian as required by state regulations, and a minimum of five years of experience in a related clinical role. Expert knowledge of malnutrition, including Nutritional Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) as per ASPEN guidelines, is essential. Candidates should also have exceptional client relationship management skills, the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and a demonstrated capacity to conduct themselves in a positive and professional manner. You should be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and possess experience in data collection and analysis using Excel spreadsheets. The role requires multi-tasking abilities, effective remote personnel management, and the flexibility to travel 50% of the time.

HHS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off (vacation and sick leave), medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and opportunities for career development and ongoing training.

It is important to note that many healthcare facilities require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption in place. We encourage veterans and candidates with military experience to apply. HHS is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
