Job description:

Nesco Resource is seeking a qualified Field Service Technician for our client located in Madison Heights, MI. This full-time, direct-hire position involves providing filtration services for deep fryer cooking oil using a vacuum-based cleaning system at commercial kitchens.

Technicians will be tasked with loading company vans with the necessary equipment and oil containers, driving designated routes, and servicing kitchen fryers as per schedule. The role demands physical stamina, the ability to work independently, and exceptional customer service skills.

Shift:

  • Monday – Thursday (10-12 hour shifts)
  • Start time: 5:00 AM
  • Occasional Friday work may be required based on coverage needs

Pay Rate:

  • $19.50/hour during the training period (approximately 4 weeks)
  • $20.00/hour upon successful completion of training

Responsibilities:

  • Arrive promptly at the warehouse in Madison Heights at 5:00 AM
  • Load van with the necessary equipment and oil containers
  • Efficiently follow scheduled appointments and work routes
  • Clean commercial kitchen fryers using specialized equipment
  • Accurately document job details using a smartphone application
  • Maintain the company vehicle and ensure proper handling of all equipment
  • Manage inventory of supplies and materials on the company truck
  • Communicate effectively with both management and customers

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs, reckless driving, or excessive incidents)
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check (note: marijuana testing is not conducted; however, there is a strict zero-tolerance policy while on the job)
  • Reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival at 5:00 AM in the 14 Mile & John R area (bus routes do not accommodate this start time)
  • Physical capability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly and push/pull heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in using smartphones, GPS navigation, and mobile applications
  • Commitment to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently while maintaining communication with management
  • Ability to adapt to various working conditions, including:
    • Hot kitchen environments
    • Exposure to oil and potential messiness
    • Physical demands that may initially lead to muscle soreness
    • Outdoor weather conditions (loading/unloading in winter, summer heat, rain, etc.)
