Job description:

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is seeking enthusiastic Baristas to join our team, serving customers with exceptional coffee, espresso, and tea beverages in the mornings, starting as early as 5:30 AM, and throughout the afternoons. Founded in Ann Arbor, we are a distinguished, woman-owned and led premium coffeehouse brand with a legacy of over 30 years of successful operation.

Our location in vibrant downtown Ann Arbor offers a lively atmosphere with an array of surrounding restaurants and retail shops. Convenient parking is available in the nearby neighborhoods, along with easy access to public transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare coffee, tea, and espresso drinks according to Sweetwaters’ high standards, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Deliver friendly, accurate, and prompt service to all guests.
  • Adhere to proper cash handling procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café environment at all times.
  • Exhibit and communicate extensive knowledge of Sweetwaters’ coffee, teas, and product offerings.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for coffee or tea.
  • Food service experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Availability for shifts beginning as early as 5:30 AM and throughout the afternoon.
  • Must enjoy working in a positive environment and share a sense of humor.
  • Availability for a minimum of 15 hours per week, with at least two shifts scheduled on weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience with cash handling and register systems is desirable.
  • A commitment to providing upbeat, friendly, and authentic customer service.

Compensation & Benefits:
