Job description:

In collaboration with upper management, the General Manager is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel, executing the preventative maintenance program, achieving or surpassing financial objectives aimed at maximizing profitability, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and product quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership and management for all hotel personnel, taking responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of guests and employees.
  • Collaborate with corporate support teams (Execution, Human Resources, Sales, and Pricing) to create and implement a comprehensive execution plan for the property.
  • Address any challenges that hinder the hotel team from adhering to established processes and procedures on a daily basis.
  • Optimize financial performance by leveraging available tools, systems, and guidelines.
  • Maintain service standards as directed by regional leadership.
  • Ensure the hotel operates in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, as well as Company and brand standards.
  • Effectively coach, counsel, and motivate team members.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to maximize revenue while efficiently controlling expenses.
  • Adhere to all financial review deadlines and corporate programs promptly.
  • Conduct daily tours of operating departments, making adjustments as necessary with department heads.
  • Analyze and evaluate financial reports proficiently.
  • Ensure department heads adhere to approved staffing levels and weekly schedules.
  • Facilitate comprehensive training in service standards across departments, employing effective training methodologies.
  • Process invoices daily using the approved accounts payable platform and procedures.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the property through inspections and preventative maintenance programs in collaboration with department managers.
  • Interview all final candidates for vacant positions within the hotel prior to extending any job offers.
  • Provide consistent, documented feedback to foster an environment conducive to professional growth.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the front of the house during peak check-in, check-out, and high-traffic periods to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Complete required corporate training modules and attain certification to train others as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
