Job description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
– High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
– Proven track record of successful employment.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Competent in operating computers and various programs.
– A valid Ohio Person in Charge of Food Protection Certificate is mandatory.
– Completion of all training as mandated by Sylvania Schools and/or the Ohio Department of Education is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Report to the cafeteria coordinator for daily assignments.
– Serve food at the cafeteria lunch line and during special functions.
– Set up food for serving and ensure the cafeteria serving line is stocked with food and supplies.
– Maintain cleanliness of counters, equipment, and work areas.
– Prepare short-order items and assist in basic food preparation.
– Demonstrate knowledge of kitchen equipment including steamers, slicers, and ovens, as well as adhere to proper serving and holding temperatures.
– Learn to utilize Mosaic Food Service Software effectively.
– Follow sanitation practices as outlined by the Ohio Health Department (ServSafe and HACCP).
– Collaborate effectively with staff and students.
– Adhere to appropriate dress and conduct standards in Food Services.
– Assist with washing dishes, pots, and pans, and support various aspects of cafeteria operations, including food preparation and inventory management.
– Be responsible for recording personal absences in Red Rover and Time Clock Plus, and for notifying the Food Services Director or Human Resources of any same-day absences.
– Regularly check and respond to the district email account as necessary.
– Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure the successful operation of the cafeteria.
