Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play an essential role in the food supply chain across the country. Our delivery drivers ensure timely and safe delivery of products to customers while also embodying our company’s commitment to exceptional service through building lasting customer relationships.

The Driver, Formula CDL-A is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck across intrastate and interstate routes—including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes—to safely and efficiently deliver and unload food and related products. All operations will adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring all inquiries are addressed accurately and promptly.
– Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization, fulfilling any assigned duties to best serve the company.
– Conduct all necessary safety checks, including pre- and post-trip inspections of the tractor, truck, and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring they meet safety standards.
– Report any safety issues and required repairs promptly.
– Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and the company’s safe driving policies.
– Report safety hazards immediately and ensure the trailer is loaded securely before departure.
– Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
– Maneuver the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
– Drive to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route schedule.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport them to the designated customer storage areas.
– Conduct damage assessments on items, scan deliveries, and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy.
– Verify delivery items with customers and secure necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) where applicable, and load customer returns onto the trailer, ensuring trailer doors are secured.
– Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are always locked and adequately secured.
– Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bringing them to the driver check-in and completing the requisite paperwork. Clean and clear all equipment, materials, and trash from trailers as needed.
– Maintain accurate daily records of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT and company requirements.
– Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as necessary.
– At the end of each shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary documentation.
– Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
– Minimum one year of commercial driving experience
– Valid CDL-A license
– Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
– Comply with all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years
– Successfully pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
– Pass a road test
– Possession of a valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one
– Capable of hand-lifting and using necessary equipment to move and stack product cases/freight, generally weighing between 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60-90 pounds, depending on the location

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet)
