The Process Improvement Lean Specialist, reporting to the Senior Process Improvement Lean Specialist, is essential in enhancing operational efficiencies and driving productivity improvements within our 3PL Business. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify opportunities for process enhancement and collaborate with business units to implement meaningful recommendations. The Specialist will develop effective relationships with segment leaders and various functions across the supply chain, working collaboratively to define, prioritize, and execute initiatives that promote efficiency and productivity. A strong passion for challenging the status quo and a demonstrated sense of urgency are key attributes for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing business processes, measuring their effectiveness and developing sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable improvements. Research and benchmark best practices both internally and externally to inform recommendations that enhance service, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Explore how emerging information technologies can support the reengineering of business processes, with the potential for specialization in areas such as value stream mapping, business process analysis, change management, and process-driven system requirements.
– Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen, within the 3PL business, focusing on enhancing service, quality, and cost by evaluating enterprise value streams and leveraging Lean methodologies.
– Tackle complex issues that necessitate a deep understanding of the organization’s strategic objectives, working closely with management across various functions and divisions to shape relationships with strategically important customers.
– Identify and implement initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of business processes across quality, service, cost, waste, productivity, and client satisfaction.
– Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish and refine metrics and KPIs in relation to continuous improvement initiatives for effective operational performance management.
– Partner across functional areas to drive collaborative projects and initiatives.
– Provide timely insights and operational direction regarding continuous improvement initiatives.
– Influence management at all levels to secure support and adequate resources for process improvement activities, ensuring timely implementation of solutions.
– Engage with sales, customer service, transportation, operations, regulatory, and procurement functions to advance joint improvement efforts.
– Maintain close collaboration with clients and customers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
– A degree or equivalent in a relevant field, typically supplemented by a minimum of four years of related experience.
– Formal certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.

Critical Experience:
– Proven experience in facilitating continuous improvement events, particularly large-scale initiatives requiring extensive change management with multiple competing priorities, and a track record of meeting project deadlines.
– Healthcare industry experience is highly desirable.
