Position Details:
– Schedule/Hours: Four-day work week
– Average Starting Salary: $80,000 – $85,000
– Sign-on Bonus: $15,000
– $4,000 payable after 90 days; remaining amount payable on the one-year anniversary (terms apply)

Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the nation’s food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products arrive at their destinations on time and in excellent condition, while also serving as the face of our company, fostering strong and enduring customer relationships. The Driver, Formula CDL-A, is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for intrastate and interstate routes, which include local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop deliveries. This role involves delivering and unloading food and related products to customers safely and punctually, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Professionally communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly.
– Collaborate effectively with team members within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.
– Conduct all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) and vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations; verify that the tractor/truck and trailer meet company safety standards, taking appropriate action as necessary.
– Report any safety issues and necessary repairs.
– Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
– Promptly report all safety hazards and check trailers to ensure cargo is loaded and secured properly.
– Perform inventory checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
– Carefully complete all required paperwork associated with freight in an accurate and legible manner.
– Maneuver the tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed.
– Deliver customer orders according to predetermined delivery schedules and routes.
– Unload products from the trailer and transport items to designated customer storage areas.
– Conduct damage control checks on items and communicate with supervisors regarding product removal in accordance with company policy.
– Confirm delivery of items with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
– Collect payments (cash or checks) where required, and secure customer returns in the trailer.
– Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked and/or maintained in a secure state at all times.
– Handle damaged goods and customer returns, completing the necessary paperwork and maintaining cleanliness by unloading all equipment and materials as required.
– Maintain a daily record of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
– Conduct general housekeeping duties in and around the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.
– At the conclusion of each shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary documentation.
– Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
– A minimum of one year of commercial driving experience
– Valid CDL-A license
– Must be 21 years of age or older
– Compliance with state licensing and/or certification requirements, where applicable
– Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years
– Successful completion of post-offer drug test and criminal background check
– Passing score on road test
– Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one
– Ability to hand-lift and utilize a two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift; products typically range from 10-35 pounds, and occasionally up to 60-90 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
– High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
– Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet)
– Familiarity with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD)
– Customer service-related experience
