Operational Role:
Reporting to the Director of School Operations, the Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in the school operations team, ensuring the seamless and effective functioning of our dynamic school environment. As a key representative of the school, the Operations Coordinator provides exceptional customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include managing the front desk, coordinating transportation requests, ensuring accurate student attendance, adhering to safety protocols for students and staff, and organizing shared workspaces.
The Operations Coordinator will:
- Maintain a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing school environment through visual culture.
- Provide tactical support in transportation, child nutrition, food services, technology, and facility maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with technology vendors to ensure optimal functioning of technology infrastructure and promptly address any issues.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, including Nationwide Children’s Hospital staff, custodial teams, safety personnel, food service staff, and external vendors.
- Ensure all areas of the school are organized and tidy in preparation for visitors.
- Assist the Director of Operations in overseeing auxiliary services such as transportation and food service, as well as managing vendor relationships.
- Conduct bus counts, communicate transportation changes to parents, and distribute transportation tags to students.
- Support daily attendance initiatives by contacting households of absent students, aiming for a 95% average daily attendance, and assisting families facing challenges.
- Implement a daily tardy policy and record tardy information in the database.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and shipments, ensuring efficient processing.
- Handle phone inquiries, direct questions as necessary, and promptly relay messages to staff.
- Maintain daily operational procedures and resolve problems that arise in the front office.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

Our salary scale for teachers starts at $50,000 for those with one year of experience, with additional appreciation stipends for teachers who have completed 5 or 10 years of service with KIPP Columbus.
