THE OPPORTUNITY

The primary objective of this position is to develop a comprehensive understanding of all relevant departmental equipment, including fillers, seamers, sterilizers, labelers, forklifts, palletizer/de-palletizers, hi-cone applicators, processors, chart recorders, and case boxers. The Operator II will be responsible for coordinating shift events across the entire production line, encompassing pre- and post-shift activities.

In the Filler Operation, this role involves:

  • Maintaining product level and ensuring adherence to operational parameters for fillers, seamers, and can washers.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and maintaining a detailed downtime report.
  • Ensuring the release of commodities before usage and performing Clean In Place (CIL) on equipment, alongside visual inspections and fill weight checks.

In the Clean Up Operation, responsibilities include:

  • Executing preventative maintenance checks on filler valves and pistons, employing proper cleaning methodologies during wash jobs, and maintaining cleanliness in areas such as filler valves, pistons, screens, bowls, seamer product filters, and production floors and walls.
  • Ensuring correct hook-up of FP tanks to filling lines and verifying that product can weights align with desired specifications.
  • Meeting all safety and housekeeping requirements while coordinating pre-and post-shift meetings.
  • Running reports and conducting data analysis as necessary (e.g., TPR reports on failed retort loads).
  • Coordinating isolation and line separation events, overseeing batch setup and communication in Electronic Batch Records (EBR), executing work order distribution and reprints, and facilitating communication with Quality Assurance for batch release.
  • Championing new ideas and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 24 months of job experience within a plant setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept interpersonal capabilities, analytical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to effectively multitask.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with tools and equipment associated with the RPB manufacturing line, including seamers, fillers, sterilizer systems, can washers, product filters, forklifts, palletizers/de-palletizers, labelers, tray wrappers, and Hi-Cone applicators.
