Job description:

We are seeking a qualified candidate for a Janitor position at our facility located at 777 Joslyn Ave., Pontiac, MI 48340. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

The successful candidate will work full-time from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. A background in housekeeping is required for this role. The hourly pay range for this position is between $18.11 and $21.91.

Job Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in designated areas. This includes performing heavy cleaning tasks such as washing floors, shampooing carpets, cleaning walls and windows, and ensuring the proper disposal of waste.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and properly dispose of trash in accordance with established procedures and infection control plans.
  • Dust and damp mop floors, following approved cleaning protocols.
  • Relocate equipment and furniture as necessary for effective cleaning, returning items to their original positions afterward.
  • Utilize designated cleaning materials and equipment to sanitize surfaces following an established eight-step cleaning procedure.
  • Clean walls, windows, furniture, and baseboards to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Proactively identify areas in need of cleaning and take initiative to address them.
  • Complete all tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Execute all cleaning tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform floor care tasks such as stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet shampooing.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to the team culture, fostering respectful interactions with colleagues and customers.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
