Reporting to the Director of School Operations, the Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role within the school-based operations team, ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the school environment. As the point of contact for the school, the Operations Coordinator provides exceptional customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include managing the front desk, coordinating transportation requests, ensuring accurate student attendance, implementing safety procedures, and organizing shared workspaces. This full-time position supports one of the schools on the KIPP Columbus campus.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator:
- Maintain a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing school environment through visual culture initiatives.
- Provide operational support in areas such as transportation, child nutrition, food services, technology, and facility maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient front office.
- Collaborate closely with technology vendors to ensure equipment and infrastructure function properly and that issues are resolved promptly.
- Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including staff members from Nationwide Children’s Hospital, custodial staff, safety and security personnel, food service personnel, and outside vendors.
- Ensure all school locations are organized and prepared to receive visitors.
- Assist the Director of Operations in supervising the school’s auxiliary services, including transportation and food service vendor relationships.
- Conduct bus counts, communicate transportation changes to parents, and distribute transportation tags for students.
- Support daily attendance initiatives by contacting absent students’ households to encourage attendance, maintaining a 95% average daily attendance, and providing assistance to families facing challenges.
- Implement a daily tardy system for students and accurately input tardy data into the database.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and shipments efficiently.
- Answer phones, redirect inquiries appropriately, and relay messages to staff in a timely manner.
- Maintain daily administrative operations and address routine operations challenges within the front office.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:
KIPP Columbus is committed to clarity, equity, and competitiveness in our compensation and benefits package. Our teacher salary scale is competitive, beginning at $50,000 for those with one year of teaching experience. Additionally, we offer appreciation stipends for teachers who have served with KIPP Columbus for 5 and 10 years.
