Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team on a full-time basis during afternoon and evening shifts. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly encouraged. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering outstanding customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring that everyone enjoys an exceptional “Judgment Free” experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring they feel comfortable and welcomed.
• Answer phone calls in a professional and friendly manner, assisting callers with various inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, facilitate new member sign-ups, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise purchases using the point of sale (POS) system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Strive to maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby.
• Conduct regular facility cleaning, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure thorough cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking in restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment, with continued employment contingent on a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, surpassing member expectations.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• An upbeat, positive, and professional attitude is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are required.
• Successfully obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within company-mandated timeframes and maintain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to speak continuously in person or on the phone throughout the shift.
• Maintain physical capability to administer CPR during medical emergencies.
• Normal visual acuity, with or without correction.
• Normal hearing ability, with or without correction.
