We are actively seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join our team at AtkinsRéalis in Toledo, OH.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in our organization by:
- Providing monthly reports on departmental financial status to key stakeholders, accompanied by detailed analysis.
- Ensuring that all operational departments adhere to established financial policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the development of stage gate estimates and budget sanction documentation by supplying relevant project cost data and forecasting staffing requirements.
- Supporting the setup of budgeting systems, applying agreed-upon Cost or Work Breakdown Structures to effectively assign and control project costs.
- Aiding senior team members in monitoring project costs against approved budgets and baselines throughout the project lifecycle, promptly reporting any baseline deviations.
- Executing all transactional requirements related to project costs, including the creation of Purchase Orders, invoice resolution, shared cost contributions, and financial ledger reconciliations.
- Contributing to the month-end processes for all cost-related deliverables, incorporating accrual determination, validation, time-phased forecasting, and variance identification and mitigation.
- Engaging regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent flow of data to senior project team members.
- Assisting in the preparation of project Change Request documentation and tracking approvals through the established Delegation of Authority process.
- Preparing comprehensive project cost reporting materials for stakeholders and senior leadership, including Summary and Detailed Cost Reports, Change Logs, Performance Measurement metrics, and Contingency Utilization.
- Contributing to project closeout activities and benchmarking tasks by providing historical cost data to third-party auditors.
- Offering ad hoc support on Cost Management initiatives as needed.
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts, making a significant impact in a data-driven environment.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of five years of relevant construction experience, or up to five years of experience in a comparable setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Apps, and digital tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Capability to collaborate and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders, achieving alignment and establishing structured processes.
- Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing extensive data sets, with a focus on succinct reporting.
