District Operations Manager
SPAR is seeking a results-oriented candidate with exceptional interpersonal skills for the role of District Operations Manager. This position is integral to overseeing the day-to-day operations of a district, which includes budget management, resource planning, customer service enhancement, operational efficiency, and safety program implementation. Experience in big box retail, project scheduling, and phase planning will be highly advantageous as you step into this role.
Your organizational and communication skills will be critical as you manage project budgets and cost controls, while also hiring, training, and coaching staff to foster improvement. This position requires decisive leadership and the ability to connect with both staff and clients effectively. Responsibilities:
– Supervise multi-site projects, managing 4-6 teams
– Staff, schedule, and oversee all operational programs
– Hire, train, and coach individuals while developing cohesive teams to meet client objectives
– Travel to engage with clients and teams according to project needs and directives
– Ensure work execution meets client expectations and stays within established budgets
– Monitor and control district costs, including pay rates, travel expenses, and in-store time
– Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives through team meetings and special projects
– Develop and maintain strong client account relationships
– Potentially develop and evaluate time and motion studies
– Learn and effectively utilize company systems as necessary (e.g., reporting)
– Ensure operational efficiency in each store on every project
– Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations across all supervised stores
– Manage regional budgets, ensuring each project operates within approved financial parameters
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
– Minimum of 5 years in retail management
– Experience in Big Box Retail or Construction preferred
– Familiarity with project scheduling and phase planning
– Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
– Excellent time management, organization, and training skills
– Proficient written and verbal communication skills
– Analytical mindset with robust problem-solving abilities
– Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office
– Experience with Big Box home improvement reporting tools
