Graham Packaging Company is seeking a Machine Operator to join our team in Minster, OH. This position offers night shift hours, working approximately from 7 PM to 7 AM on a 2/2/3 schedule, which includes working every other weekend.

– Weekly pay begins at $22.21 per hour.
– An additional $1.00 per hour is provided for night shifts.

The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of multiple plastic blow molding machines and associated inline equipment, ensuring the production of containers is performed safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of quality. The primary responsibilities include:

– Understanding, following, and enforcing all applicable safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies and procedures.
– Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives and related activities as assigned.
– Operating a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce quality containers safely.
– Assisting with mold, insert, and color changes on the production line.
– Enhancing machine efficiency and minimizing scrap through basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines.
– Performing tasks associated with Utility positions during less busy periods or as required.
– Monitoring processing conditions for HDPE/PET resin (where applicable), dryers, material handling systems, and color systems.
– Conducting regular quality checks on products against established standards.
– Assisting operators and maintenance staff with mechanical repairs.
– Completing assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
– Maintaining a clean and safe work area adhering to housekeeping standards.
– Filing required documentation promptly and accurately.
– Coordinating with the Production Shift Supervisor to support production objectives.
– Verifying material usage against standards.
– Addressing minor troubleshooting and programming on the line, informing leads and supervisors of significant issues.
– Operating equipment to optimize regrind, purge, and scrap consumption within customer specifications as applicable.
– Clearly identifying produced regrind and chunks.
– Communicating processing updates to incoming shift personnel and assisting colleagues as necessary.
– Participating in training new Operators as required.
– Limited travel may be necessary.
