DIRECT HIRE: We are seeking a Field Service Engineer for an exciting opportunity with a high-tech international company specializing in innovative laser technology solutions for the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, and Scientific research sectors.

This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including Paid Time Off (PTO), Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Short-Term Disability (STD).

The pay rate ranges from $27.94 to $37.81 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a generous relocation package valued between $10,000 and $15,000, which includes 4 to 8 weeks of accommodation in an apartment or extended-stay hotel, as well as 6 to 8 weeks of car rental for qualified candidates willing to relocate.

Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

  • Provide exceptional support to customers across North America as part of our technical service team.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair company equipment to the highest quality standards.
  • Participate in an extensive training program lasting approximately 5 to 6 months, with ongoing training on existing and new products.
  • Execute basic retrofits, software installations, and customer training sessions.
  • Ensure timely submission of paperwork with attention to detail and quality.
  • Independently troubleshoot technical problems while fostering positive relationships with customers.
  • Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Assume any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Candidates must be located within 60 minutes of John Glenn Columbus International Airport or be willing to relocate.

Qualifications for the Field Service Engineer:

  • A two-year technical degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, or a combination of relevant training and work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience, preferably with a technical focus.
  • Strong electrical and computer systems experience, combined with advanced diagnostic skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems, or mechatronics is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements:

  • This role requires 100% travel within North America to support customers.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. passport and be eligible to rent vehicles.
