Job description:
The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $25.95 and is responsible for operating one or multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment. Key responsibilities include transferring raw materials to the production line and executing tasks related to filling, capping, sealing, labeling, and packaging products. The role also involves the removal of damaged products or supplies as necessary, overseeing production, managing package and flavor changeovers, and maintaining thorough product inspection processes.
Additionally, the incumbent will be tasked with performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure the production equipment operates efficiently. This role requires physical stamina, including lifting, carrying, and pushing or pulling cases weighing between 20 to 45 pounds repeatedly over extended periods. The position primarily encompasses walking or standing throughout the shift, with responsibilities that may include stooping, crawling, and crouching over and under machinery. Flexibility in working weekends and holidays may also be required.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Operate and monitor production lines to maximize efficiency.
- Facilitate the proper flow of materials and finished products through removal or relocation as needed.
- Ensure the quality of packages and products.
- Carry out preventative maintenance routines.
- Efficiently and safely operate all manufacturing equipment, including emerging technologies.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas before, during, and after shifts.
- Uphold excellent housekeeping standards throughout the work environment.
- Expedite repair processes for production lines in coordination with maintenance teams as necessary.
- Document daily records of downtime and machine operations.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented setting.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating High Shear / High Speed mixers for timely batching.
- Set up outgoing concentrate shipments and manage incoming concentrate accurately.
- Conduct weekly concentrate inventory and perform PQI responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Helpful Experience:
- Familiarity with high-speed production lines, encompassing high-output and high-performance equipment in fast-paced environments.
- Experience handling pallets, including operating forklifts and stacking or bundling products.
- Proficiency in operating packing machines, including processes related to stacking, bundling, and wrapping products.
- Skills in operating filler machines and managing product mixes and production systems.
- Expertise in using palletizers, including building pallets and managing product changeovers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics related to machine operations and production flows.
- Experience with production schedules, including understanding product requirements, production planning, and managing changeovers.
- Competence in utilizing computers within manufacturing settings for monitoring line speed, pressures, troubleshooting, and equipment resets.
- Knowledge of sanitization practices, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) applicable in food production.
- Experience in minor mechanical repairs, including resolving jams, using tools, and making adjustments to equipment.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices to inspect and maintain equipment proactively.
