Job description:

Homestead Health Care is actively seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide dedicated care to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The Resident Aide will assist residents with activities of daily living, offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for serving others, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with seniors.

Immediate hiring is available, and while no licenses or certifications are required, candidates must have experience in medication administration and be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Maintain a clean living environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly population.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • A valid Driver’s license or ID is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with punctuality for all scheduled shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, with Resident Aides working 8-hour shifts. Availability for every other weekend is required.

Pay:
The starting hourly wage is $16.00, with opportunities for advancement.
