SUMMARY
The Repair Technician is responsible for conducting basic inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical services for automobiles and light trucks. This role is essential in ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with safety regulations while operating machinery and tools. Key responsibilities include managing inventory and supplies, as well as assisting in facility maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operates tire balancing machines and tire mounting equipment to perform tire-related services, including repairs, rotations, and diagnostics for tire wear and vibration.
• Cultivates knowledge of tire products and procedures to effectively manage inventory, stock inquiries, and shipping/receiving operations.
• Conducts oil changes and visual inspections covering areas such as engine compartments, undercarriages, and wheels.
• Performs basic removal and replacement tasks, including battery and filter installations, windshield wiper replacements, headlamp, and small bulb changes.
• Executes alignments and cooling system flushes using appropriate machinery.
• Identifies basic diagnostic issues, specifically with noise or vibration, following thorough road testing.
• Supports facility maintenance by adhering to proper operational procedures and general upkeep.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS
Safely operates the following equipment: tire machines, balance equipment, lubrication tools, flat repair apparatus, vehicle lifts, impact guns, torque wrenches, tread depth gauges, grinders, micrometers, flush machines, and alignment racks, as well as any equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of a Tire & Alignment Technician.

QUALIFICATIONS
To successfully perform this role, candidates must exhibit proficiency in all essential duties and possess the following skills and knowledge:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Familiarity with Basic Services
• Knowledge of Starting and Charging Systems
• Understanding of automotive and tire technologies
• Experience in automotive maintenance, including removal and replacement tasks
• Fundamental automotive diagnostic skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, along with the capacity to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS and REASONING ABILITY
Proficient in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and capable of solving practical problems with minimal standardization. Able to interpret instructions provided in various formats, including written, oral, or visual.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
