Job description:
Hourly Wage: $15.50 – $17 per hour

As a Dietary Cook at Vancrest, you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for our residents by providing nutritious and delicious meals tailored to their dietary needs. We are committed to delivering the highest quality service while adhering to established nutrition guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
– Review menus prior to meal preparation to ensure accuracy and preparation standards.
– Inspect special diet trays to guarantee they meet the specific dietary requirements of each resident.
– Complete necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submit them to the Director of Food Services.
– Collaborate with other departments to coordinate dietary services effectively.
– Work closely with the facility’s Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and Supervisors to implement recommended dietary changes.
– Ensure compliance with all dietary procedures according to established policies.
– Assist in establishing a food service production line to ensure timely meal preparation.
– Process diet changes and new diet requests as communicated by Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
– Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils and kitchen equipment are ready for subsequent meals.
– Assist in the inventory and storage of incoming food and supplies, along with other tasks as needed.

Cooks will report directly to the Dietary Manager.
