Overview
LINE COOK – FULL TIME – EARLY SHIFTS
The Cleveland Marriott East is seeking skilled culinary professionals to join our team! Our shifts may commence as early as 5:00 AM to prepare for events and buffets. We offer a variety of dining options for our guests, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The River City Grille is open daily and serves an array of entrees, soups, salads, desserts, and more. For guests who prefer to dine in their rooms, our Marriott in-room dining menu is also available. Our morning buffet features classic breakfast favorites, ensuring a delightful start to the day.

The PM Line Cook will utilize their culinary expertise to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes to our evening guests. A background as a line cook is required, preferably in either a hotel or restaurant environment. Open availability is essential, and weekend shifts are mandatory. The AM Line Cook is responsible for maintaining exceptional food quality, presentation, and cost control in accordance with specified standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
– Prepare food items in alignment with production requirements and quality standards while ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment
– Maintain consistency in food preparation, adhering to recipe cards, production, and portion standards, as directed by guest tickets from servers
– Begin preparation of food items in advance, avoiding over-preparation based on estimated needs
– Assist with the preparation of vegetables and condiments as necessary for subsequent shifts
– Support the preparation of banquet meals as assigned
– Date food containers and rotate perishables to maintain proper storage conditions
– Conduct checks for shift pars, determining necessary preparation, freezer pulls, and line setups, while noting any out-of-stock items or potential shortages
– Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment; notify management of any deficiencies in the area or equipment
– Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper dating and rotation of all containers
– Complete the breakdown and cleaning of lines and workstations at the close of business
– Demonstrate thorough knowledge of emergency and life safety procedures while adhering to key control protocols
– Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
