Position Description:
As a Field Service Technician, you will leverage your technical expertise while collaborating with healthcare professionals and spearheading technical initiatives in medical device technology. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, and updating medical devices within various clinical environments, including hospitals and pharmacies. The focus of your work will be on an automated medication dispensing system.

This position is available immediately and is part-time, on-call, requiring approximately 20-25 hours of work per week. You will benefit from a flexible schedule and have opportunities for growth and development within the medical device industry while earning supplemental income.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair existing devices while accurately documenting actions taken.
  • Replace hardware parts and perform software updates and calibrations.
  • Conduct bi-annual or annual preventative maintenance as specified by the customer.
  • Assist with the installation and implementation of new devices at customer locations.
  • Perform routine system checks and document data from product tests following installation and configuration.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of parts and tools assigned by the customer.
  • This per-diem position requires travel and flexibility, allowing you to integrate work with your current schedule.
  • Be available on-call, including nights and weekends, and travel locally for up to 2-3 hours to meet customer needs.
  • Respond promptly to customer sites within the specified Service Level Agreement, which may range from 4 to 24 hours based on the service ticket details.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess intermediate troubleshooting skills in electronics, mechanics, and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience as a military technician, computer technician, or a technician with a background in complex electronics is preferred; experience in supporting automation equipment in healthcare is an advantage.
  • A+ certification is desirable.
  • Experience in healthcare, field service, engineering, biomedical maintenance, customer service, pharmacy technician roles, electronics, electrical work, or IT is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service are essential.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for job-related tasks (travel time and mileage will be reimbursed).
  • This role requires physical abilities, including pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Candidates must meet hospital vendor credentialing requirements, including proof of vaccination status.
