Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time capacity during weekend mornings. Bilingual candidates proficient in both English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will deliver exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a welcoming and supportive “Judgement Free” environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

  • Warmly greet members and guests, providing outstanding customer service to foster a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
  • Respond promptly to phone inquiries, assisting callers with a range of questions in a friendly manner.
  • Manage member check-ins, conduct facility tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and effectively communicate updates and events to members and guests.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns efficiently and professionally.
  • Process beverage and merchandise sales through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Utilize the POS system for issuing new membership cards, updating addresses, and addressing billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby, going above and beyond in upkeep.
  • Conduct routine cleaning tasks such as mopping spills under equipment, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
  • Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are regularly cleaned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and supply levels in restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Candidates must submit to a seven-year criminal background check within the first week of employment. Continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check outcome.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A positive, upbeat, and professional attitude is essential.
  • Punctuality and reliability are critical.
  • Candidates must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the timeframes set by the company and possess the physical capability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands and Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, as well as frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
  • Capability to communicate continuously in person and on the phone throughout the shift.
  • Maintain physical readiness to administer CPR in response to medical emergencies.
  • Visual acuity within normal ranges, with or without correction.
