Job description:

The Executive Housekeeper at Homewood Suites Milford plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operations of the Housekeeping Department. This position entails supervising all aspects of housekeeping, including guest rooms, public areas, and laundry services, while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public spaces to uphold quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Effectively manage daily operations by organizing department opening, distributing housekeeping boards and keys, carrying out room inspections, and overseeing the department’s closing procedures.
  • Provide hands-on cleaning services for guest rooms and public areas as needed.
  • Uphold hotel brand standards for cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Engage with guests and team members in a courteous, attentive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Direct and monitor housekeeping and laundry personnel to ensure effective team performance.
  • Facilitate daily meetings with housekeeping staff to communicate objectives and updates.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of housekeeping and laundry supplies by ordering necessary items on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Conduct timely monthly and quarterly inventories of housekeeping supplies.
  • Oversee maintenance requests by monitoring work orders and coordinating with the Engineering department to ensure timely completion.
  • Balance and verify room status each night by comparing the PM Housekeeping Report to the computer’s room status report, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Manage "Lost and Found" procedures in accordance with established policies.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports to management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review the Guest Request log daily to ensure all guest requests are addressed proactively.
  • Monitor special guests and VIP requests to ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards for the use of hazardous chemicals.
  • Implement a key control system for the housekeeping department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.
  • Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or a related field is required.
  • Supervisory experience is mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate, prevent, identify, and address workplace issues.
