Job description:
The Front Office Manager is tasked with assisting hotel leadership in managing and enhancing the overall guest experience. This role involves the direct supervision of up to two departments, while also providing support to other departments as necessary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for motivating, developing, and coaching employees, alongside performing various administrative management duties. As part of the hotel management team, the Front Office Manager will excel in guest relations and serve as an inspiring example for hotel staff. Flexibility is essential for this position, as it requires the ability to work any shift with or without advance notice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Exhibit a strong commitment to guest service by proactively addressing guest needs and responding promptly to concerns.
- Develop and implement training materials for the departments under direct supervision, providing ongoing training support for all departments in compliance with brand and Lexington Hotel Group standards.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train departmental staff, ensuring continuous training and mentoring throughout the employees’ tenure.
- Exemplify the performance of all supervised positions, leading by example, and fill in on any shift as needed to meet business demands.
- Assist hotel management with administrative tasks, including invoice processing, managing overdue accounts, and compiling and scanning audit packets.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of hotel experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Prior experience with a hotel brand is strongly preferred, along with proficient knowledge of reservation systems.
- Supervisory experience is strongly favored.
- Must uphold the confidentiality of guests and employees, refraining from disclosing sensitive information unless there is a legitimate business need.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness are essential.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, understanding, and effectively communicating in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, when interacting with guests, employees, various levels of management, hotel ownership, vendors, and brand representatives.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in work scheduling, with the readiness to accommodate changes and work additional shifts as business needs dictate.
