Job description:
The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of guest accounts by reconciling the revenue generated from each department. This role involves posting charges for rooms, taxes, and local phone calls to guest folios. In addition to auditing duties, the Night Auditor will also serve at the front desk during the night shift, typically from 11 PM to 7 AM. Responsibilities include assisting guests as needed and maintaining the safety and security of the hotel premises throughout the night.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Completing the posting of all charges accurately and efficiently.
– Receiving and recording guest payments.
– Posting daily room, tax, and local call charges, ensuring total room revenue aligns with the room revenue report.
– Preparing a revenue report that encompasses all daily rates.
– Compiling the Housekeeper’s Report by 7 AM daily, detailing the status of check-outs, stay-overs, vacant, and out-of-order rooms from the preceding night.
– Assigning rooms in a courteous and efficient manner to all incoming guests.
– Maintaining an accurate daily walk-in reservation count.
– Attending promptly to phone inquiries, adhering to established courtesy standards.
– Properly recording and executing all wake-up calls.
– Providing information to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
– Understanding and following established policies and procedures during emergency situations.
– Completing the night audit by the end of the shift at 7 AM, providing key information to other department heads, particularly regarding the morning’s breakfast service and meeting arrangements.
– Ensuring all shift tasks are completed and verifying them against the shift checklist.
– Performing additional tasks as delegated by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

– Previous experience as a Night Auditor in a hotel setting is preferred.
– Strong background as a Hotel Guest Services Representative is highly favored.
– Proficient in processing mathematical calculations.
– Familiarity with office technology, accounting, and bookkeeping practices is preferred.
