Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Resident Aides to provide exceptional care for our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The role of the Resident Aide involves assisting residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a sincere passion for helping others, possess strong communication skills, and build meaningful relationships with seniors.

Please note, while no specific licenses or certifications are required for this position, applicants must have experience in medication administration and should be comfortable working independently. We are hiring immediately!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervising staff.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly population is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team, with punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, with Resident Aides scheduled for 8-hour shifts, including the requirement to work every other weekend.

Compensation:
