Job description:

Homestead Health Care is actively seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide exemplary care to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The Resident Aide will play a vital role in assisting residents with activities of daily living, while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to establish meaningful relationships with seniors. (No licenses or certifications required) – We are hiring immediately! Previous experience in passing medications is essential, and candidates must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and to arrive punctually for all scheduled shifts.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position. Resident Aides will be scheduled for 8-hour shifts, with a requirement to work every other weekend.

Pay:
