Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential care and medication assistance to our residents in Shelby Township, MI. The Caregiver will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities and offering companionship and emotional support. We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with seniors.

We are hiring immediately for First Shift! This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications to residents in accordance with medical charts and properly document each administration.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Maintain a clean living environment, including light housekeeping as needed.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and fellow team members at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Capable of passing a criminal background check.
  • Experience in caregiving, particularly with the elderly population.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s license or ID is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team, while arriving punctually for all shifts.

Compensation:
