Job description:

Homestead Health Care is looking for compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to deliver quality care and medication management to our residents in Shelby Township, MI. The successful candidate will assist residents with various activities of daily living while also providing essential companionship and emotional support. We seek individuals who are passionate about aiding others, possess excellent communication abilities, and are committed to building meaningful relationships with seniors.

We are currently hiring for First Shift positions on a part-time basis, with immediate availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications to residents according to medical charts, ensuring accurate documentation of all medications.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents’ wellbeing.
  • Maintain a clean environment, which may involve light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in resident conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with elderly individuals is preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid Driver’s License or state-issued ID is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, including punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts.

Compensation:
The starting pay for this position is $15.00 per hour, with opportunities for advancement.
