Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to deliver high-quality care and manage medication administration for our residents in Shelby Township, MI. The Caregiver will play a vital role in assisting residents with their activities of daily living while also providing companionship and emotional support. We are looking for candidates who are genuinely passionate about helping others, possess exceptional communication skills, and can cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors.

We are hiring immediately for First Shift in a part-time capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications to residents in accordance with medical charts and adhere to documentation procedures.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers of Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license or ID.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with a commitment to punctuality.

Pay:
